Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) with FRYNZ

April 15 @ 7:00 pm8:30 pm

April is Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) and once again the High Point Arts Council is partnering with the Smithsonian National Museum of American History to increase awareness of jazz across all mediums and to recognize its historical significance across America.

In continuing our celebration, the Arts Council is proud to present FRYNZ on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. FRYNZ was developed in the 1980s by Keith Byrd and Charles Burns. The current band was assembled for the International John Coltrane Jazz Festival as the All-Star Band. With the addition of Eric Jones on bass and Calvin Napper on drums, all the members have travelled extensively with some of the most renowned performing artists in the world: Barbara Weathers, Bill Withers, Anthony Hamilton, Frankie Beverly and Maze to name a few. This is a seasoned group of artists who truly enjoy playing with each other as you will experience the passion of FRYNZ.

This will be a hybrid performance with 125 patrons in attendance and unlimited livestream viewership. The in-person audience will be required to wear masks unless seated, and the dance floor will not be open due to social distancing procedures. Tickets are $10 for in-person and virtual performances.
