2010 United Arts Fund Drive

The Arts Put Color in Our Lives!

The High Point Area Arts Council will kick off the 2010 United Arts Fund Drive on Thursday, February 4, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Arts on Main at 305 N. Main Street . Entertainment will be provided by the Arts Council's Celebration Band and Youth Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Tom Blount, Editor of the High Point Enterprise, will emcee the event.

Keynote speaker will be Sec. Linda A. Carlisle speaking on our state's Creative Industry. Carlisle was named Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources by Gov. Bev Perdue on January 5, 2009. As a resident of Greensboro , Carlisle has been a strong supporter of various community arts organizations including Community Theatre of Greensboro, Triad State , and Greensboro Symphony. She is a persistent proponent of the arts as an economic development driver, downtown rejuvenator, and small town catalyst.

This is a complimentary evening including heavy hors d'oeuvres in appreciation of our community's support of the arts. Although a free event, reservations are required. Please call the Arts Council at 889-2787 ext. 24 to make a reservation.

One donation to the United Arts Fund Drive supports six arts organizations in High Point that provide essential arts programs and services for our community. This year’s goal for the fund drive is $250,000 which is necessary to sustain the arts in the High Point area. Please pledge your support to the fund drive by calling 889-ARTS!
