HP Arts Council Presents: Third Thursday Feat. Lakota John

May 16 @ 7:00 pm8:30 pm

The High Point Arts Council is excited to announce that blues musician, Lakota John, will be performing live at the Centennial Station Arts Center on May 16 at 7:00 p.m. This event will serve as the last Third Thursday concert presented by the Arts Council for their 2019 spring series. Third Thursdays will pick back up again in October for the fall series. Tickets for this event will be $5 per person. All proceeds after taxes go directly back to the performing artist.

Hailing from Pembroke, NC, Lakota John performs acoustic blues and folk music that wonderfully pays homage to his Lumbee and Lakota Native American roots. Considered a prodigy on the guitar at the age of twelve, Lakota John Locklear has received multiple awards and was also a Native American Music Awards (NAMA) nominee in 2015. Over the past several years, Lakota John has been able to preserve Native American traditions through his music and the help of the Music Maker Relief Foundation who has deemed Lakota John one of their “Next Generation Artists.”
