The High Point Area Arts Council is expanding it arts education programs by offering a summer camp for young singers in grades 3, 4, and 5 this summer. The camp is August 11-15, from 9:00 a.m. until noon, and will be located in the rehearsal hall of the Arts Council at 305 N. Main Street, Suite 222 . The registration fee for the workshop is $60 (partial and full scholarships are available) which includes a t-shirt!

Carolyn Hall, Artistic Director for the High Point Children’s & Youth Chorales, will conduct the summer camp. Each day campers will explore different parts of our musical world. Singing activities focus on learning about the voice and listening to oneself and other singers. Learning the fundamentals of music include sessions in which campers create their own songs in small and large groups. Each day a guest musician will share their own style of music-making with the choral campers. At the conclusion of the Friday session, an “Informance” will be held for all participants and guests.
